Midwinter Recess Media Mash is the perfect way for your children to explore something new, express their creativity, and experiment with technology. Campers will grasp a foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence tools as they create story ideas. Each day, campers will learn a specific technology from media educators to bring their stories and characters to life as they draw animations, design a virtual reality experience, program an interactive digital video game, and film and edit their own shorts.
On Friday, the finished work will be screened and displayed in an interactive showcase open to parents and families. The showcase will feature a camper-curated exhibition of work created throughout the week, and a special screening of the campers’ short films, with a sneak peek behind-the-scenes of each day. The showcase will conclude with an award presentation of a certificate of completion and the digital MoMI Badge for Transmedia Storytelling to each camper.
Please note: your ticket may be used to enter at any time on the day of your visit within Museum hours (please check for any holiday hours).
The Museum offers free admission every Thursday, 2:00–6:00 p.m. (no reservations are needed).
General admission includes a same-day ticket to a regular film screening (value $17.50 or less) if one is scheduled, and may be requested first-come, first-served upon arrival (tickets are not guaranteed).
All sales are final and payments cannot be refunded. If you cannot attend the Museum as originally planned, please contact visitorservices@movingimage.org to reschedule your tickets. Gift admission tickets do not expire.

Summer Media Camp is the perfect way for your children to explore something new, express their creativity, and experiment with technology. Working under the guidance of specially trained artists and educators, your child will collaborate with other children to create original movies, animated films, and video games, which will then be featured as part of a special showcase at the Museum. All levels of experience are welcome. Each child will leave camp with the confidence and knowledge that they made something awesome! Ready to make something this summer? Let’s go!

Each camp meets Monday–Friday for two hours per day, starting at 10 a.m. Each week-long camp costs $150. We will send you an email to complete registration with a payment link. Youth ages 8–14 who live in NYC and anywhere around the world are welcome to join! Members receive a $45 discount in the form of the waived registration fee.
